Mr Hannu Ylärinne has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Executive Vice President of the Arctia Group as of 20 May 2019. He will also continue as CEO of Meritaito Ltd, which is part of the Arctia Group.
Maunu Visuri, M.Sc. (Tech.), has been appointed as the new President and CEO of Arctia Ltd as from 1 August 2019.
The European Commission has granted CEF funding to the Intelligent Sea project coordinated by Meritaito Ltd. The funding is 1,5 million Euros.
Oceaneering has innovated a total new approach for the maintenance of submerged pipelines and installations. The basic principle is to minimize the use of expensive support–vessel and use remote operated EROV-systems for the maintenance. The SeaHow EROV-buoy serves as the floating station for the communication antenna.

The fairway itself – especially in Finland – is in a core role when accessing or departing a port. This possibly intelligent fairway can reduce many of the points highlighted in the 2030 vision. But it really has to be intelligent. We at Meritaito have analyzed this vision and validated the need from the fairway owners and users where as a reflection to this we created a project called InSea – Intelligent Sea

Meritaito Ltd and Lamor Corporation Ab have concluded an agreement whereby Lamor will acquire Meritaito’s oil spill response equipment operations marketed under the brand name SeaHow.

The Finnish Transport Agency will test position-indicating spar buoys on Pyhäranta small craft track. The aim of this new type of spar buoy is to improve maritime safety and reduce the need for position inspections.The spar buoys will be integrated in Meritaito’s system, SeaDatics
The Swedish Maritime Administration has contracted Meritaito for a survey project in the Baltic Sea. ODIN’s survey vessel Pohjanmeri will be mobilised for the project shortly.
Meritaito Ltd installed 33 smart beacons on the fairway maintained by the Finnish Transport Agency and the Port of Rauma. The new beacons increase the safety of the fairway and save money.
